The lower Jelah village is one of the villages of al-Sham sub-district of Aslam in the Governorate of Hajjah. According to the 2004 census, the population of this village were 157 people in 27 families. There are 26 houses in the village, where most of the inhabitants rely on agriculture as their main source of income.

In the village  of E’arr in the District of Ashmour, Governorate of Amran, Arafat Ahmed Nasser Hadi’s wife wakes up early every morning. like all other  village women do. She carries on her head a water container and heads for the village cistern located in the lower part of the Fort at the village. She is going to fetch water for the house to meet water needs of her family from the cistern- the only source of water for both villagers and IDP’s in the area.

Skidding accidents are an almost daily occurrence in al-khayasheen hill road in the district of qabytah in the governorate of lahj. Cars and small and heavy trucks would skid off this unpaved  road  causing a number of tragic accidents and loss of lives. This off-track road gained significance after the main rahidah - anad highway closed due to the ongoing conflict in yemen.

Destiny had it for Sawsan to give birth to her child, Manar, in one of the classrooms of the Al-Nahdha School for Girls in the city of Al-Turbah- Taiz. This was a good omen for the students. The school was recently rehabilitated by PWP creating an improved environment in the school.

The small primitive ponds (Caravan) are the only source for the majority of the population in the district of Al-Talah in the Governorate of Shabowah. The people get their needed daily supply of water for domestic use and for animals from these ponds (caravan). They rely on agriculture and grazing as the main sources of income in this district.

In spite of the existence of a manual drinking water well in the village of Sahari- one of the villages in the Majzer district of Marib- women and children were bitterly suffering in fetching water to their homes, due to lack of a piped water network in the village. Earlier, the residents had been forced to flee their village during the conflict. Upon their return after the conflict subsided in their area, the villagers found that everything they had in their village had been either destroyed and or looted, including the water pump at the well. This forced people to return to the old ways of fetching water manually.

Built 35 years ago in 1982, Abi Dhar Al-Ghafari’s basic and secondary school is located in the lower Durainah village in the District of Abs of the Governorate of Hajjah. The school consist of two parts: one a model school building and another structure consisting of classrooms built randomly without roofs, sand floors and no WC’s.

Shujairah is located in the southeast of the Governorate of Hodeidah. It is part of the Duraihemi district and home to 1575 inhabitants.  Shujairah is close to the highway connecting the Governorate of Hodeidah with the coastal city of Mokha, along the coastal strip- 18 kilometers away from the coast. Geographically, Shujairah is a coastal area being very close to the coastal strip of the Governorate of Hodeidah.
