Signing the Emergency Crisis Response Project (ECRP) in an amount of USD 50 million of which USD 15 million was allocated to the PWP

The ECRP is funded by the World Bank as a grant to Yemen while the UNDP is the Administrator. The Agreement was signed with the UNDP for an amount of USD 50 million of which USD 15 million allocated for the PWP and USD 35 million for the Social Fund for Development to be implemented within 24 months.

The emergency response project in Yemen targets alleviating the impacts of the current crisis on the local households and communities and assisting them to cope  by using local capacities and institutions to progressively resume the provision of services.

The project will also contribute to increase job opportunities and livelihood at the short term and revival of the local private sector as well as resuming the provision of the key services through the support of the infrastructure by improvement of income generation and livelihood opportunities for fragile households including internally displaced  in  conflict areas , together with recovery of the key social services and revival of small projects.
