PWP Sings Three Partnership Agreements with UNESCO and UNDP

The Public Works Project signed three partnership agreements with UNESCO and two agreements with UNDP financed by the European Union and The Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) valued at US$ 7.4 million.

The agreements provide for the promotion of livelihoods for youth in historic cities through implementation of restoration of historic buildings and squares in the Old City of Sana’a, Zabid, Aden, and Hadhramaut. The restoration work will be funded by UNESCO.

Under the project “Strengthening Economic Resilience in Yemen, 36 school buildings will also be restored in 18 districts and 9 governorates with funding from the European Union.
An agreement to promote food security in 34 districts in a number of governorates was also signed.
