PWP: Effective Role In Easing The Humanterian Crises In Yemen.

The Public Works Project (PWP) has updated its spending plan for both the parent funding and the additional funding of YECRP. The move is in response to a request by the World Bank and UNDP for the acceleration of service provision to benefit the local communities in need for urgent assistance.

PWP has also made provisions in anticipation for future funding from the International Development Agency (IDA), building on the flexibility, transparency and quality of implementation that PWP has been known for.

All suggested measures for the acceleration of the implementation process have been implemented, especially increasing the number of subprojects. In 2017, PWP signed contracts for 1014 subproject at a cost of US$ 74,686 million dollars - 318 subprojects were completed at a cost of US$ 18.7 million and 1246 subprojects under implementation at a cost of US$ 98,5 million, and are scheduled to be completed during the first quarter of 2018.

214 subprojects are being tendered at a cost of US$14.6 million scheduled to be implemented during the second quarter of 2018.
