As part of the emergency response project which continues to the end of September 2017: The Public Works Project secures more than 300,000 working days

At a steady pace, the public works project through the Yemen Emergency Response Project to the humanitarian crisis in Yemen (which is financed by United Nations Development Program) continues to target the most vulnerable groups and communities, especially displaced people, women and the poorest families.

The Public Works Project could overcome very complicated challenges and difficulties, and reach all the regions of Yemen without exception. The project reached the disadvantaged and neglected areas and communities according to the field assessment of the third party (consulting company) to assess the performance of the Public Works Project in achieving the objectives of the Emergency Response Project of the humanitarian crisis in Yemen .

The language of numbers confirms the efforts of the Public Works Project, in the implementation of projects covering the sectors of education, water, sanitation and agriculture, and their significant economic and social impact among the people.

According to the periodic report from August 2016 to September 2017 issued by the Public Works Project , the number of beneficiaries from the projects implemented under the emergency response project of the humanitarian crisis in Yemen are 23,715 people directly who have benefited from wages (the displaced constitute the largest proportion of the number of beneficiaries) and provided people with(307,048) working day until the end of September 2017, of which 47% for the displaced people.

The figures show that the number of working days in which IDPs / returnees worked were relatively higher than the number of residents who had been employed due to staff field efforts and contractors to employ longer-term IDPs than local workers and thus generate more working days.

According to the report, about 1.1 million people from local communities have benefited , 51% of whom are females.

The increase in the number of beneficiaries of community assets exceeded the target by 2.5 times due to the increase in the number of subprojects implemented at a rate exceeding 33%, while the total indirect beneficiaries are (852,174) persons.
