UNDP's Regional Director Praises the PWP's Efforts in the Implementation of the Yemen Emergency Crises Response Project.

The Director  of the Regional Bureau for Arab States of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Mr. Mourad Wahba has praised efforts by the Public Works Project (PWP) in the implementation of the Yemen Emergency Crises Response Project (YECRP) - A project funded by the World Bank through UNDP.

Mr. Wahba confirmed, during a visit to the headquarters of PWP in Sana'a last Tuesday, that the UNDP will continue the support for PWP's efforts in alleviating the humanitarian crises in Yemen.

For his part, the Director of the PWP, Eng. Saeed Abdo Ahmed briefed Mr. Wahba and the accompanying delegation on the effort being made by PWP to implement the YECRP and to achieve its objectives.

He confirmed that PWP has succeeded in translating the objectives of YECRP in the ground according to plans developed for the purpose. And has overcome all difficulties and challenges caused by the current situation in Yemen.

Eng. Ahmed praised the World Bank and the UNDP for their support for PWP to continue its role in combating poverty and unemployment and the improvement of livelihoods in Yemen.

He pointed out the significance of YECRP in such a situation and to the positive economic and social impact of the completed subprojects in the target communities.
