Under YECRP subprojects funded by the WB through UNDP: The PWP is strengthening social cohesion of communities and IDPs and improving livelihoods

Completed subprojects and those under implementation have been creating profound impacts on local communities. They have created stable conditions for IDPs and returnees. Important subprojects have contributed to improving the situation,such as improved sanitation- through subprojects for stone pavements of roads and streets,provision of clean water for human and livestock,and access to  fully functional schools.

The most profound impact has been in the social front,where PWP's subprojects have contributed to strengthening social cohesion among IDPs/ returnees by creating common benefits,improving incomes and livelihoods,thus reducing conflicts.

Economic impacts have also left a deep mark in local communities by creating community assets and generating direct and indirect opportunities for improved livelihoods and incomes for local communities. What makes these effort remarkable are their immediate and long term impacts. Generating work opportunities for the local workforce create immediate impact by improving incomes and livelihoods. Rehabilitation of schools,create sustainable jobs for teachers,school management,janitorial work,and small businesses within and around the schools. Providing a conducive environment for education,means that boys and girls can attain a better education,thus creating long-lasting economic,social and health benefits for the local communities.
