Despite the immense need among Yemenis for projects that address daily life priorities, the Public Works Project succeeded in implementing interventions across all regions of Yemen without exception.
In 2024 alone, approximately 1,500 projects were executed at a total cost of $74 million, directly benefiting 2.8 million individuals. These initiatives provided tangible economic and social value, delivering sustainable assets that contribute to food security and community resilience throughout Yemen.
The project focused on essential services that impact citizens’ everyday lives—such as water provision, school rehabilitation, road paving, sanitation services, protection of agricultural lands and irrigation channels, and flood mitigation in urban areas. Each intervention was designed not only to improve service delivery but also to generate employment opportunities for both skilled and unskilled labor, particularly in light of the current challenges facing Yemen.
Quantitatively, the Public Works Project reached all 22 governorates and covered 320 districts out of the 333 districts within the Republic, demonstrating a comprehensive and inclusive approach to development.
